Thanks for stopping in! My name is Heather, I’m 43 years old, and my friends describe me as a bit of a free spirit, funny in a nerdy sort of way, friendly, stubborn, and sometimes a little too sensitive for my own good. You might also want to know that I live with my two boy cats, Jacob and Bill; my girl dog, Marley; and many, many dust bunnies that have moved in uninvited and continue to multiply. I also have two two awesome teenagers, Tristan and Savannah, who make me laugh and remind me that no dream is too big to pursue at any age.
I was born in Morgantown, West Virginia, but moved around so frequently throughout my youth that I haven’t decided how to answer the question, “Where are you from?”, so I usually don’t. If really pinned down to give an an answer, though, I claim Franklin, North Carolina. I graduated from Franklin High School, so it seems to be a milestone that I can stick a pin in and name.
When I’m not traveling or writing, I spend my time running, reading books or articles about running, and training to run in marathons. Who knew that could take up so much time, right? I’m also in love with anything that has to do with aviation, meteorology, birds, languages, sociology, and culture.
I look forward to sharing my travel adventures here as well as my journey to follow my dreams of being a full-time writer. I also hope that I can help and inspire some of you along the way, and help you to realize that it’s never too late to pursue and realize your own dreams and goals.
